Parent Interview Project

If you are a cis parent of a trans, nonbinary or gender expansive kid age 5 or older, I am thrilled you are here! I would love to include your story in my project intended to humanize our families. In doing so, I hope to counteract hateful representations of our kids in the media, as well as challenge transphobic legislation. Since August 2023, I have been interviewing parents throughout New England. In July and August 2024, I will be traveling to IA, MO, NE and SD to meet with parents, allies and stakeholders. My intention is to increase the representation of our families from all over the USA, with a particular goal to share the stories of families residing in states with bans on gender-affirming care, among other anti-trans legislation. (Those states include: AR, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, or UT.) Quotes and themes from these interviews will be used for articles and a book.
